Spiritual prisons

Jesus macht auch Dich frei

Dear Lions and friends of the full gospel…

About: I am speaking to you about prisons, and I am referring to spiritual prisons. This topic is too multifaceted and complex for me to cover it 100% and conclude it today..

I will use myself as an example.

The topic is the same for Christians, born-again Christians, and non-Christians.

Because I have gone through all three stages.

  • Who put me there
  • How I got there
  • How long I stayed there
  • My expulsion
  • What I have to do to get out

Dear friends, since this is about a kind of liveliness, dynamism, please understand that I jump back and forth between different times and phases of my life.

It was me who got myself into one or more different prison cells. Yes, dear friends, it was me, through my own decisions.

No one else! Because I always had the opportunity to say NO.

Did I use it? Sometimes—mostly just for appearances, because I do what I want! Recognition, praise, being seen, respected, valued—these are natural needs, and so far, so good.

If you can’t get enough of it, your behavior towards your fellow human beings changes slowly at first, then drastically. You become unbearable to them and you feel that you are only tolerated.

The result – isolation.

You can only get along with similar people and it doesn’t take long before you take it to extremes here too.

The result—loneliness.

Take isolation and loneliness, and your stay in these prison cells has been going on for a while, you get used to it and it becomes normal for you.

To make it less noticeable, you put on masks:

the clown mask

the ruler mask

the thousandfold mask of suffering, and so on and so forth.

You quickly figure out how to change and use these masks. It just depends on the people and/or circumstances. In between, you sometimes think of Jesus and that HE can and wants to get you out of there. But that requires a clear decision on your part.

Either/or! Jesus is here, today, yesterday, and always. Are you ready?

Consequences? Sure, painful—not always. And my stay in my prison is extended, even if I can change cells. I am in prison!

Addiction, no matter what kind, same principle. Depression, same principle.

Dear friends, the whole thing is a creeping process, it only goes downhill.

So: isolation, loneliness, maybe addictions, depression—what else? It goes on, deeper—to what end? Loss of your own personality, well then?

Do I live two personalities, elated and deeply saddened?

If that’s not enough, I let even more and different ones join in. Now I have a whole pack of evil forces inside me, and each personality wants to be in charge, to take the lead. That’s very unpleasant, exhausting, and difficult.

How should it continue?

Of course, my thoughts run wild; I don’t just think them, I can already hear them. At first, it looks like solutions, but then I end up in even darker prison cells and even worse and more terrible thoughts arise, and finally:

Nice, friendly voices say that it’s in your power to put an end to all this so that the others will be better off without you.

If you don’t seek help, first divine and then human, which you should then let God show you and implement, or if you are no longer able to change anything, God can get you out of there—or not, and you are dead.

You make the decision! The only way out is through Jesus.

As soon as you take back control and make decisions, you are back in prison.

Goodbye freedom, goodbye wonderful, beautiful life! Goodbye God’s abundance!

Dear ones, Jesus always helps you, even after several stays in prison.

But is that necessary? No! Dear ones, you choose the path of destruction yourselves.

For true discipleship of Jesus is a different path, it is the path of light, love, hope, as well as the path of divine power, trust, and obedience. No two, three, or more paths, no, only Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

And when you build God’s kingdom, live His righteousness, no longer your own, then you live in and from the fullness of God because you trust and believe.

Now let God in, come to the almighty Father in the name of Jesus.

Show and tell Him that you are absolutely serious about Jesus, even if you have been walking with God for a long time. Come! Come!

Dear ones, surrender everything to Jesus first thing in the morning, repent, and hand over control and guidance to the Holy Spirit.

And in the evening, when you go to bed, do it again.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always! Pray without ceasing! Give thanks in all circumstances! For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Phil 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, Rejoice.

Psalm 16:11 You make known to me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

John 15:11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.

Psalm 32:7

You are my shield, protecting me from fear and disaster; you surround me with shouts of joy.

Amen, dear Lions and friends of the full gospel. Sincerely yours, Ralf 🙂
